Snaps directly into an O’Conner 2575 or 2060 and the alexa35 slides right on. Gets the lens as low as possible; the sliding BUD plate is just millimeters above the O’Conner head.
1/4-20 tapped holes on both ends of the plate allow for mounting some accessories, mostly designed around the ubiquitous smallrig 15mm mount. This mount can go on top or bottom.
There are multiple 3/8-16 tapped holes centered on the bottom of the plate to attach to a touch and go, steadi, remote head, etc.
In addition, the plate approaches the BUD dovetail slightly differently: adding a “landing zone” and ramp akin to the traditional Arri dovetail. This makes aligning and sliding on the camera much easier than existing options.
Lastly, there have been reports of the safety pin on the Alexa35 getting stuck open. I wanted to have a redundant safety for overhead, steadi, or remote head work so there are four M4 tapped holes at each corner of the plate. When the included, stored on the plate stainless screws are installed the camera cannot slide off that direction.
Plate will come anodized black with 4x stainless safety M4 screws.
Preorder will be open soon with plates shipping by the end of June/first of July!
