This cradle allows for easy adaptation of the Walter Klassen Slingshot for handheld use. The cradle can attach to either the top or bottom of the camera and features two bearing swivels on the sides (aprox. 10in clearance inside the cradle). These swivels are adjustable along the length of the 8" 15mm rods, allowing easy changes to your camera's bottom heaviness. By adjusting the swivel's position, you can easily switch from a more bottom heavy configuration for a solid, grounded feel to a neutrally balanced configuration for a quick responding, frenetic handheld.
To achieve a quick on/off from handheld to studio mode, I prefer using the cradle with a bottom-mounted dovetail and attaching Arri rosettes to the rods that then link to shape handles (see last four photos). This configuration also has the advantage of easy adjustment of fore and aft balance. In this and other configurations, I achieved previously-impossible shots and angles using the Slingshot and this bracket together.
The anodized aluminum cradle comes with stainless steel captive 3/8" flat head camera screws, stainless steel kipp handle adjustments for the side swivels, and anodized aluminum M12-threaded end caps to prevent any unwanted accidents. The included 8" rods can be swapped for rods of other lengths without additional hardware.
Can be arranged to be picked up/dropped off in Atlanta, GA.
