Many assistants I know often mount the MDR on the back of the top handle, a great spot out of the way for studio builds. But they use a MDR paddle; flimsy, ugly, and velcroed on. Not an idea solution. So I designed this bracket: using the side 8-32 holes on the MDR 3 or 4 (it works with both!) this rigidly mounts the MDR with ports facing either way to the rear of any handle with an arri anti-twist 3/8-16 hole. The MDR and mount are below the top of the handle.
I also hate normal pressed in Arri pins, they always seem to get wiggled out at some point in their lives. I have opted to use (and will continue to use in future products) threaded stainless pins. With a bit of loctite these will never come out; super solid.
Zero vibration, lightweight, and small form factor. If you want to put an MDR3 or 4 on the rear of the top handle, this is the best way to do it!
Comes with 4 stainless 8-32 cap head screws, two arri pins, and one custom 3/8-16 tie down screw. Tapped holes in the part allow for storage of screws while not in use
